What will the teaching be on?

Session 1 - Sin 
Marriage is the union of two people who arrive at the altar toting some surprisingly large luggage. Often it gets opened right there on the honeymoon, sometimes it waits for the week after. The Bible calls it sin and understanding it's influence can make all the difference for a man and woman who are building a life together. This session is about understanding the real problems within marriage that we might truly comprehend and experience the life-transforming power of the gospel.

Session 2 - Sex
If you’re married, sex matters. Yet far too often, it just doesn’t seem to work well. Be it past sins, present expectations, or future anxieties, sex sometimes divides more than it unites. Through a discreet but honest study of 1 Cor 7: 1 – 5, this session will examine God’s intention behind the glorious gift of married sexuality.

Session 3 - Forgiveness
Resentments are subtle and sneaky. Marriages often unravel over the impact of unforgiveness. But forgiveness is often approached as a relational lever and not a transforming application of the gospel. This message is both pointed and practical and invites the hearer to understand that forgiven sinners should forgive sin.

Who is Pastor Dave Harvey?
Pastor Dave loves Jesus, is a dear friend of Pastor Dustin, and he is the President of the Great Commission Collective (one of the networks we are gospel partners with).

Here is short bio:
DAVE HARVEY (D. Min – Westminster Theological Seminary) serves as the president of Great Commission Collective, a church planting ministry in the US, Canada and abroad. In his 39 years of ministry, Dave was president of Sojourn Network, led church planting, church care & international missions for Sovereign Grace Churches, and served as a senior pastor for 19 years. He is the founder of AmICalled.com and now writes at revdaveharvey.com. Dave serves on the board for the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF) and travels nationally and internationally doing conferences where he teaches Christians, trains pastors, leaders & church planters and conducts marriage events.

Dave served as general editor for the Sojourn Network “How-To” series, contributed to the ESV Men’s Devotional Bible and contributes at The Gospel Coalition and Desiring God.  Dave is the author of When Sinners Say I Do (Shepherd Press); Am I Called? (Crossway); Rescuing Ambition (Crossway); Letting Go: Rugged Love For Wayward Soul (Zondervan – co-authored w/ Paul Gilbert); I Still DO, Growing Closer & Stronger Through Life’s Defining Moments (Baker Press – trade book, study book and 31-Day devotional), The Plurality Principle: How To Build and Maintain a Thriving Church Leadership Team (Crossway) and Stronger Together: Seven Partnership Virtues and the Vices That Subvert Them (Zondervan). His next book will be released in 2025 titled The Claypot Conspiracy (New Growth Press). Married for 43 years, Dave and Kimm reside in southwest Florida.
